Training videos works. . .however it is still better to have someone teach you martial arts so that your form and basics would be corrected if there are flaws.

I suggest you check this video link ,

    no they dont.

    hello,

training videos are intended as a reference to be used by those already training.knowledge of proper body mechanics (as specific to the activity in question) is the basic prerequisite to using training videos. second, you would need a training partner (one that also understands proper mechanics) available in order to practice the material shown.

still, if there isn’t anyone around to train you, or to explain proper mechanics to you, then videos might be your only option.

hopefully things work in your favor.

    thanks

Depending on what constitutes work for you.

Can you learn martial arts from watching videos? Yes. By all means you can.

Will you be good enough to defend yourself from an inexperienced couple of knuckle heads?
Probably enough to give yourself distance and run away.

Will you be good enough to enter a controlled fight and win? Umm, most likely no.

Will you get good exercise? Yes.

Yes, martial arts training videos do work.

If Rosetta Stone can teach you a foreign language using tapes,
Bas Rutten certainly can teach you a martial art/self defense from watching his videos.
